Resilience In Your Student Experience Center

We are so glad you are here!

The RISE Center's core mission is to uplift and support every Bruin’s well-being by providing the education, resources, and tools needed to foster health, healing, and hope for themselves and the world around them.

As an extension of UCLA Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS), we are committed to helping students build a strong foundation of resilience that includes caring for their mental wellness through daily practice.

Our intentional programming and restorative on-campus space are run by a dedicated and diverse staff who are committed to helping students become their authentic selves in accessible, supportive, and inclusive peer-oriented spaces.

All services are free of cost and include an array of workshops, trainings, drop-in consultations, and self-directed resources. Programs are offered both in the RISE Center and in collaboration with students, staff, and partners across campus.

UCLA community members are invited to request a workshop or training through our website and to stop by the RISE Center during our open hours.

Julia, MSA

Julia - Grad Appreciation

Julia Lin is a first-year graduate student pursuing an M.Ed. in Student Affairs. She received her B.A. in Psychological Science from UC Irvine where she also became involved with mental health initiatives on campus. Through her undergraduate experience, she discovered her passion for advocating for student well-being and the destigmatization of mental health, leading her to the graduate program she is currently enrolled in and this position with RISE! After obtaining her degree, she hopes to work at a public university’s counseling center and continue engaging in the kind of work she is involved with here at UCLA—supporting students with their mental health as they navigate college and providing them with the tools and resources to promote wellness.

Jiayang, MSW in Health and Mental Health

Jiayang - Grad Appreciation

Jiayang Ling is a second-year international student currently pursuing her MSW degree in Health and Mental Well-Being at UCLA Luskin. Her academic journey began with a B.A. in Interdisciplinary Studies, focusing on cultural studies and sociology. Throughout her undergraduate years, she actively participated in peer counseling, emotional support initiatives, spiritual healing, and mindfulness-based activities. Despite being a non-believer, her worldview and life philosophy are rooted in Buddhism. Beyond her academic pursuits, she finds joy in the act of creation, whether it's crafting a poem or designing a poster. She has a keen appreciation for beauty in all its forms. Guided by the motto 'all things bright and beautiful,' She is dedicated to creating a life that is both free and beautiful, unbounded by preconceptions and societal norms.
